Adjunct Faculty, Department of Psychology or Sociology
ABAC’s Department of Rural Studies is home to an interdisciplinary group of scholars who work together to offer courses in the social sciences. We seek qualified adjunct faculty to teach courses in Psychology or Sociology. Part-time, temporary, adjunct faculty may instruct one or two courses a semester on an as-needed basis.
Possible courses include PSYC 1101 Intro to General Psychology, PSYC 2103 Human Growth and Development, SOCI 1101 Introduction to Sociology, and SOCI 1160 Intro to Social Problems, with courses being offered in a traditional face-to-face format or online, depending upon departmental needs. The Department of Rural Studies offers courses at ABAC’s main site in Tifton, at ABAC’s instructional site in Bainbridge, and in partnership with high schools throughout the region in support of dual enrollment course offerings. Applicants interested in offering classes at either site or possibly at one of our partner high schools are welcome to apply.
Applications should include a brief cover letter, CV/resume, a list of at least three professional references, and unofficial copies of graduate transcripts.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 credits of graduate coursework in either Psychology (to teach PSYC classes) or Sociology (to teach SOCI classes).
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of successful teaching of college-level coursework preferred.
