Our 90-credit Applied Bachelor’s degrees streamline learning while maintaining rigorous expectations for critical thinking, communication, and professional readiness. All programs are designed around sustainability, systems thinking, and applied skill development supported by AI-enhanced learning tools.

The Opportunity:

Unity Environmental University seeks committed, student-centered adjunct faculty to teach introductory Psychology and Human Services coursework in Career Edge, our fully online, workforce-focused Applied Bachelor of Science programs. These programs serve working adult learners pursuing careers in human services, counseling support roles, advocacy, and community-based practice.

Career Edge’s curriculum integrates psychology, communication, data literacy, social-emotional skills, and sustainability principles to prepare graduates for applied helping professions.

Adjunct faculty may be assigned to teach one or more of the following courses:

  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Introduction to Human Services
  • Case Management and Helping Skills

Additional opportunities may arise in human development, counseling basics, applied social psychology, or case-management micro-modules.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For

Faculty who:

  • Are passionate about helping adult learners connect psychological concepts to practical, career-relevant contexts.
  • Can teach in an asynchronous, fully online environment using AI-enhanced learning tools.
  • Are committed to equitable and trauma-informed teaching, with sensitivity to diverse life experiences.
  • Are comfortable using AI-supported learning tools, including formative feedback systems and rubric-based evaluation.
  • Provide clear, compassionate feedback and model strong social-emotional skills.
  • Emphasize ethical practice, cultural humility, and evidence-based reasoning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, or closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of teaching or professional experience in human services or behavioral science.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in applied psychology, case management, or community behavioral health.
  • Experience working with adult, first-generation, or low-income learners.
  • Experience integrating experiential or reflective learning.

The Location:

Unity Environmental University's Distance Education curriculum is 100% online. Our Distance Education Adjuncts will teach remotely and are required to reside within the United States for the entire duration of the academic term in which they are teaching. It is the responsibility of the adjunct to ensure that they are working in a state that aligns with the tax information reported to HR.
