Adjunct Faculty, Philosophy
The Department of Religion and Philosophy seeks adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate philosophy courses, such as Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics, on a rolling, per course basis. We value excellence in and commitment to teaching a diverse student population, as well as historically-informed, inclusive approaches to the discipline. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.
- Teach courses such as Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics
- Contribute to the academic mission of the department through high-quality instruction and engagement with students
- Prepare course materials, syllabi, and assessments
- Provide timely feedback on student progress and assignments
- Ensure active participation and engagement of students
- Support a diverse and inclusive learning environment
- Adhere to the University's mission and values, submit grades on time and otherwise comply with related requests from the chair
- Master's degree in Philosophy or a related field required; Doctorate preferred
- Preference will be given to candidates with proven teaching excellence
