Job Description
The Bellarmine University Physics Program seek a part-time lab instructor in PHYS201 College Physics I for the fall 2026 semester. The course description for PHYS201 is as follows: "This is an algebra-based introductory physics course. The basic principles, concepts and methods of physics are emphasized. Subject matter includes a wide range of topics in classical mechanics (vectors, motion in one and two dimensions, Newton's laws of motion, work, energy, momentum, collisions, rotational motion, and gravitation), as well as heat, thermodynamics, waves and sound. Selected applications for the above topics will also be discussed. Three-hour lecture, two-hour laboratory, and one hour recitation. Knowledge of algebra and basic trigonometry is expected. This course is approved for General Education. Prerequisite: one year of high school algebra." Candidates should be capable of teaching introductory physics laboratories designed for science, engineering majors, nonscience majors, and health science majors. The course is in-person. The ideal candidate will be able to teach both lab sections:

Tuesday 3-5:00 PM
The fall semester extends from 08/20/2025 to 12/02/2025.

Job Requirements
Minimum of master's degree in physics or related field required with academic training in introductory physics. Experience teaching physics (or physics lab) at the undergraduate level is preferred.
