The BLS/CPR Instructor update will provide the necessary knowledge review and skills evaluation to renew BLS/CPR Instructor status. This course will follow guidelines and standards established by the American Heart Association. Offered: Yearly

General Responsibilities:

Instruction:

• Student shall effectively facilitate didactic materials and skill performance evaluation related to AHA BLS/CPR courses.
• Student will demonstrate effective performance of BLS/CPR skills.
• Discuss and incorporate AHA changes to CPR guidelines and standards into BLS class materials.
• Classes are held in person at their respective campus site.

Advising:

• Refer students to appropriate college and community resources.
• Meet with students by phone or in person outside of class as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college. For remote work, applicants must reside in either WA, OR, ID, CA, IL, PA, or TX.

• Hold a current American Heart Association Instructor CPR Card

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of experience within the past three years.
• Prior teaching experience

Conditions/Terms of Employment

This is a part-time instruction assignment contingent on enrollment and located at the Clarkston campus. Persons hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful employment to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment and provide transcripts. WWCC participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Candidate may be subject to a criminal history background check as a condition for consideration of employment. Compensation

Compensation for an adjunct assistant professor is contingent on enrollment and paid in accordance with the contract between the WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. found on the WWCC Human Resources Page. Refer to Appendix C for the adjunct salary schedule.
