Description

Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the 2025-2026 academic year. WWCC offers opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach courses at all of our campuses: Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, as well as online/remotely.

Part-time/temporary adjunct faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals...

Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications for a part-time Energy Systems Technology instructor to be part of a pool of professionals we can reach out to for teaching various courses, including EST 250 (Programmable Logic Controllers).

General Responsibilities:

Faculty members at WWCC are professional educators committed to providing students with access to relevant, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities. General responsibilities include facilitating student learning through the preparation and delivery of course materials, providing timely and meaningful feedback on assignments and exams, assigning final grades, and connecting students to campus resources and support services.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place
  • Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment
  • Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter
  • Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions
  • Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback so students are aware of their performance throughout the quarter
  • Assign and submit grades based on the results of evaluations and the college grading policy
  • Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS
  • Post and be available during office hours that are reasonable for student access
  • Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum
  • Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology
  • Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment

Required Qualifications:

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college. For remote work, applicants must reside in either WA, OR, ID, CA, IL, PA, or TX.
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Electrical Technology or Energy Systems Technology; or
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; or
  • Documented completion of an Apprenticeship program (e.g. IBEW or CITC) and/or current electrical journey-level license; or
  • Extensive experience as a technician for a power generation utility; or
  • Experience teaching/training mechanical-electrical concepts; or
  • Military experience in the role of engineer.; or
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience in an industrial maintenance mechanic/electrical technician role; or
  • Recent WWCC Energy Systems Technology program graduate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at a community college
  • Experience using instructional technology to support student learning, including but not limited to Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital whiteboards, and Zoom
  • Experience teaching or training in a variety of modalities, including in-person, hybrid, blended, and online
  • Experience working with and relating to persons from varied cultural, ethnic ,gender, age, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds

This is a part-time instruction assignment contingent on enrollment and located at the Walla Walla Campus...

Compensation

Compensation for an adjunct assistant professor is contingent on enrollment and paid in accordance with the contract between the WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. found on the WWCC Human Resources Page. Refer to Appendix C for the adjunct salary schedule.
