Job Description:
The Theology and Religious Studies Department and the Humanities Division at Bellarmine University invites applications for a part-time instructor position for a course entitled Ultimate Questions, for fall 2026 (8/20-2026-12/2/2026). This is a course introducing students to Theology and Religious Studies. Classes are scheduled to meet in person.
Course description: An investigation of the fundamental questions of human meaning and of the nature of religious experience as response to such questioning. The course provides an introduction to religious experience, to theological terms, concepts, and methods, and to the ways that ultimate questions are dealt with in a religious context, with specific focus on the basic themes in Christianity. This course also provides an encounter with Thomas Merton's writings and his response to ultimate questions.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience teaching Theology, Religious Studies, or Christian ethics at the college level
- Hold an M.A. or Ph.D. degree in Theology or Religious Studies or a related field.
Applicants must also be available to teach in person.
