Position Summary

The Gillings School of Global Public Health – the top public school of public health in the nation – offers a variety of professional Master of Public Health (MPH) concentrations under the schoolwide MPH program. ... Section instructors for MPH@UNC will be responsible for teaching core or concentration courses.

Section instructors teach live, online, synchronous class sessions once each week for 13 weeks. ... Section instructor is responsible for maintaining reliable access to the learning management system (e.g., meeting technical specifications and reliable high-speed internet access).

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

A masters in public health or related field is required. A PhD in public health or a similar field is preferred.

Significant work and/or teaching experience directly related to the course being taught.
Experience with public health practice or research focused on understanding factors that contribute to public health problems.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively manage group discussions.
Strong writing skills, with experience providing feedback on written assignments.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Experience/background in multiple public health topics and disciplines.
Experience teaching in higher education and/or online settings.
