Adjunct Instructor - Spanish
Job Description Summary
Adjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the on-going development of instructional strategies that meets the needs of students and employers and promote student success. This position is primarily for Spanish instruction, but preference will be given to candidates with multiple certifications, such as other languages and cultures, international/intercultural studies, Intensive English Program, and English Language Learning.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Learning Facilitation - Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement.
- Assessment - Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful.
- Classroom Management - Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records.
- Team Participation - Support the college by engaging with the division, department, and team members.
- Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners.
- Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff.
- Professional Development - Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements: A Master's degree in Spanish or related subfield, OR A Master's degree, AND 18 graduate credits in the discipline or subfield they teach, OR A Master's degree, AND appropriate licensure and/or experience in the discipline or subfield they teach.
