Adjunct, Surgical Technologist
Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the faculty member will teach various Surgical Technology evening/day classes including such courses as Beginning Surgical Theory, Advanced Surgical Theory, Surgical Procedures, Surgical Procedures, and Surgical Practicum.
This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach classes in the Surgical Technology program.
- Participate in program activities to maintain accreditation standards.
- Keep accurate classroom records, detailed course outlines, and syllabi.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours, as appropriate.
- Meets college and department deadlines and evaluates student work in a timely manner including submitting grades on time.
- Demonstrate professional development and contributions in the Surgical Technology discipline.
- Participate in the use of instructional technology including the use of computers and multi-media in lectures, laboratories, and distant learning environments.
- Attendance at New Faculty Orientation sessions.
- Completes all required training.
- Coordinates student ADA accommodation requests following college policy and procedures.
- Demonstrate and supports professional commitment to division, school, and college mission and values.
- A commitment to the mission and values of the community college.
- Demonstrate and support professional commitment to the Department, Division and College.
- The willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
- Technologically literate and innovative.
- Accept other duties as assigned.
