Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is for an adjunct instructor position teaching Theatre for Children and Youth in tandem with directing a children's theatre musical for our department's fall production. Instructor will ideally have a background in working with theatre for young audiences, teaching college students or young adults, and directing adults in musicals designed for children and family audiences. Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-12:15pm. Rehearsals usually take place in the evenings and weekend afternoons at the historic Casino Theatre in Newport, RI. Theatre production will be presented in this historic space at the beginning of November 2026.

Requirements:

Required:

• Instructor will ideally have a background in working with theatre for young audiences, teaching college students or young adults, and directing adults in musicals designed for children and family audiences.
• Bachelor of Arts in theatre or education, or theatre education

Preferred:

• Master of Arts in theatre education or directing.
