Administrative Assistant - General Practice Educational Group (GPEG)

We are looking for a proactive and friendly individual to support the administration team of our General Practice Education Group (GPEG) to ensure the delivery of high-quality GP placements and seminars to our medical students.

The post holder will work as part of the administration team working alongside the Director of GP Studies and GP Assistant Directors. GPEG is a group within the Department of Public Health and Primary Care in the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.

The post holder will support GPEG's administrators with general administrative duties including filing, answering queries, inputting data on spreadsheets, database maintenance, processing of feedback and payments and office tasks. They will maintain information and materials on the University's Virtual Learning Environment. They will provide administrative support to the Director of GP Studies and the clinical team, where required. As well as collaborating with other GPEG staff, they will liaise with seminar facilitators, GP tutors and their practices, other administrators (in and outside of the University) and venues.

Applicants should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a minimum grade C or Level 4 in Maths and English or NVQ Level 2 or have equivalent level of practical experience. The post-holder will have strong organisational skills and be a competent user of standard software packages. They must have the ability to work as part of a team to deliver a task and have experience of communicating to a wide range of individuals. Experience of working in an office and within an academic environment is desirable but not essential.

In the first instance the funding for this post is for 12 months from the commencement in the position.

The position is full time but we would also consider applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working of no less than 60% FTE per week.
