We are admissions professionals dedicated to recruiting, admitting, and enrolling the next generation of UW-Madison undergraduate students to meet the University's enrollment objectives.
The Office of Admissions and Recruitment (OAR) is a high-volume, mission-driven professional undergraduate admissions office. Our Admissions Counselors serve our prospective first-year, international, and transfer students from prospective students to enrollment.
OAR is inviting applications for an Admissions Counselor for Transfer Case Management and for an Admissions Counselor for First-Year Domestic students.
Key Functions/Tasks of the Admissions Counselor for Transfer Case Management include:
- Conducts holistic application review for transfer applicants; may include review of international applicants
- Learns and communicates undergraduate admissions policies; responds to questions via email, phone, in-person, or during virtual interactions with students, counselors, and guests
- Participates in admissions processes and committees, as assigned
- Participates in on- and off-campus recruitment travel and events, as needed
- Manages e-mail cases in Salesforce from students, both prospective and applicants, in the Transfer queue. Escalates cases as needed
- Understands office document workflow to facilitate appropriate routing of application materials, grade reports and transcripts, test scores, messages, and other application supporting materials
- Trains and serves as a resource for Operations and Transfer teams as needed
Key Functions/Tasks of the Admissions Counselor (First-Year Domestic) include:
- Conducts holistic application review for first-year domestic applicants
- Learns and communicates undergraduate admissions policies; responds to questions via email, phone, in-person, or during virtual interactions with students, counselors, and guests
- Presents information about the University and UW-Madison application process to prospective students, families, and other stakeholders
- Reviews applicants from your assigned territory as well as other regions as assigned
- Participates in admissions processes and committees, as assigned
- Participates in on- and off-campus recruitment travel and events, as needed
