Job Description Summary: The IBD Fellow in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology will perform endoscopic procedures while gaining experience in IBD in academic teaching and research. The position allows the fellow to develop expertise in complex IBD diagnosis and treatments, participate in research protocol development, and contribute to scholarly activity. The fellow will also provide supervision and instruction to medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and procedural settings.
Job Duties:
- Perform endoscopic procedures.
- Serve as attending of record for general endoscopy sessions in inpatient or outpatient facilities (approximately 52 sessions per year).
- Participate in ongoing research projects and scholarly activity, including manuscript preparation and presentation of research findings at local, national, or international conferences.
- Develop skills in research protocol design, abstract writing, and other scholarly activities.
- Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and medical students in procedural and clinical care, including case presentations and teaching conferences.
- Maintain clinical productivity consistent with benchmarks (e.g., MGMA WRVU 50th percentile).
