Job Summary

Full time Faculty Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner) position in the Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM). This position will have responsibility at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) Colorado Springs Campus on general medical pediatric inpatient, as well as time in the local community newborn well nursery sites of Memorial Central, Memorial North and Common Spirit St. Francis. This position will include day and nocturnist shifts,…

including weekends and holidays at these locations.

Key Responsibilities

Care for pediatric patients of all age ranges, developmental, nutritional, and physiological status in the inpatient setting.
The APP works independently within the multidisciplinary team to provide quality inpatient care and disease management for a variety of pediatric inpatient conditions of varying acuity and complexity from admission through discharge, including coordination of discharge planning with case managers, social work, nurses, and other medical personnel.
History and physical examinations and determination of treatment plans.
Monitoring of illness progression and escalation of care for decompensating patients.
LP procedural skills and privilege maintenance.
Participates in multi-disciplinary care including team meetings and patient care conferences.
Care for well newborns in 3 locals community hospitals from admission to discharge.
Circumcision and frenotomy procedural skills and privilege maintenance.
Nocturnist role: Co-management with MD/DO attending coverage of Colorado Springs general medical inpatient team, including admissions, transfers, stabilization of decompensating patients.
