Position Overview
Position Summary
Under the limited supervision of the Associate Dean of the College of Education and Technology (CET), the Coordinator of Alternative Licensure and Graduate Student Success provides professional leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight for the College's Graduate and Alternative Licensure programs. This position serves as a primary resource for prospective and newly admitted candidates and exercises independent judgment in administering program processes, evaluating applicant eligibility, advising candidates, monitoring student progress, interpreting licensure and program requirements, and resolving candidate and program issues. This is a residential position.
Working collaboratively with the CET Dean, Associate Dean, Graduate Coordinators, school district partners, and the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED), the Coordinator supports the effective administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of the College's graduate and alternative licensure programs. The position coordinates recruitment, admissions, advising, student progress monitoring, program communications, and candidate support; ensures compliance with New Mexico educator licensure requirement sand applicable accreditation standards; maintains accurate program records and documentation; and manages the initial admissions process for graduate programs housed within the Educational Studies (ES) and Curriculum and Instruction (C & I) departments.
