Job Summary
The Alumni Engagement Manager serves as a key relationship-builder and campus partner, developing opportunities that connect alumni to Indiana University South Bend in meaningful and impactful ways. This role collaborates with university departments, advancement partners, faculty, staff, and volunteers to support alumni engagement initiatives aligned with the university’s mission and strategic priorities.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, and executes alumni engagement programs, events, volunteer opportunities, and outreach initiatives that strengthen alumni connection to Indiana University South Bend.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with alumni, campus partners, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders to advance alumni engagement goals.
- Identifies, recruits, and supports alumni volunteers for advisory groups, campus engagement opportunities, mentoring, networking, and event participation.
- Collaborates with University Advancement, Development, Career Services, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and campus leadership to create meaningful alumni engagement opportunities.
- Develops and implements targeted communication and outreach strategies to increase alumni participation, event attendance, volunteerism, and affinity with the university.
- Assists in planning and executing signature alumni events, networking programs, donor engagement activities, and campus traditions.
- Utilizes alumni engagement data, participation trends, and best practices to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Supports budget tracking, event logistics, vendor coordination, and stewardship activities related to alumni engagement initiatives.
- Represents Indiana University South Bend at campus, community, and alumni events, including occasional evening and weekend programming.
General Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, and executes alumni volunteer projects, programs, and events as a leader advisor for an assigned alumni group.
- Identifies, recruits, and develops alumni to serve in key volunteer and leadership roles.
- Collaborates with other university advancement officers to engage and cultivate alumni through various initiatives.
- Conducts research and analyzes data to recommend key market priorities consistent with alumni association and institutional goals.
- Develops best practice processes and systems for increasing alumni volunteer involvement and connection with the university.
- Manages budgets; writes and edits publications and other communications.
