Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Incumbent is responsible for managing the daily delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care in the Infusion Center. Ensures continuity and congruity of services through coordination of the overall patient care, supervision and direction of nurse staff, and the facilitation of responses to physician requests and services. Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, and patients. Additionally, incumbent reviews data and devises effective control mechanisms to ensure the environment fosters safe patient care.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Strong customer service orientation as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Previous experience working with cancer programs
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a nurse
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff through prior lead or supervisory experience
  • Current California RN license
  • Complete understanding of acuity levels for the patient population
  • Chemotherapy administration experience
  • Chemotherapy Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • ANCC recognized RN certification uniquely applicable to this specific unit, (general certifications, such as WCC, will not be acceptable for meeting this requirement).
