Must ensure that all pens, stalls, treatment areas, and
connecting corridors are adequately cleaned and disinfected so that
biosecurity integrity can be maintained.
Ensure that all rail work, catches and hinges on pens, stalls
and treatment areas are cleaned and maintained on a continual
basis.
Position may include duties in the food animal clinic caring
for cattle, pigs, sheep, llamas, etc. that enter the hospital.
Other duties as assigned.
Shift
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
Standard position hours are Monday - Friday. Shift expected to
start at 7a or 7:30a. Schedule and hours will be finalized once a
candidate is selected for hire.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read and write.
- One to two years of experience with caring for horses and/or
livestock.
- Ability on a daily basis to:
- Lift items weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Grasp handles of shovels for scooping and brooms and mops for
cleaning
- Climb on railings
- Observe animal behavior
- Work around dust, chemicals, animal waste and water
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with or handling Equines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with operating forklifts, trucks and other
equipment.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $16.00 per hour
