Office of Residence Life
Purpose: In alignment with Fairfield University’s Jesuit and Catholic Mission, the office of Residence Life seeks to promote the integration of each student’s mind, body and spirit in community. The Office of Residence Life supports all residential and commuter undergraduate students in providing a welcoming home and community founded in a shared sense of responsibility.
Position: The Area Coordinator position is a dynamic, live-in position responsible for student formation, community development, and facilities management of a residential area comprising 200-400 residents.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling or related field or 2-3 years post-bachelors related/transferable experiences are required.
Requirements: The Area Coordinator is an 11-month full-time live-in required position. Benefits include 12-month housing, semi-furnished apartment with utilities, meal stipend, competitive salary, health benefits, and tuition remission. A driver’s license is required. Night and weekend responsibilities required.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises and manages residential communities dedicated to specific living and learning communities.
- Coordinates and develops specific residential living and learning programs.
- Develops and facilitates Community Building within their residential community.
- Participates and supports the Office of Residence Life on such projects as student leader development and training, recruitment, housing assignments, and committees.
- Promotes safe and secure working conditions.
