Established in 2000, the Department (http://www.LN.edu.hk/cultural/) offers a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Cultural Studies with a strong interdisciplinary orientation. It admits postgraduate research students leading to the award of MPhil and PhD degrees. Since 2003, it has been offering a self-financed taught programme leading to the Master degree of Cultural Studies. The department’s faculty also contribute to the work of the newly established Centre for Cultural Research and Development (https://culturalresearch.center/).
Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support to matters pertaining to undergraduate programme administration including student admissions, data management and teaching support
- Assisting in coordinating seminars and student activities
- Providing front-line support to the office
- Liaising with internal and external parties to provide logistic support to the Programme
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Be required to work outside normal office hours occasionally
Requirements
- A recognized bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification
- At least two years’ full-time relevant work experience in tertiary education institutions. Experience in student admissions and academic programme support would be an advantage.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)
- Proficiency in PC operations (MS Office applications, Adobe Acrobat / Creative Cloud applications, updating and maintaining website)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, effectively and efficiently
Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Benefits
Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
