Assistant/Associate Director of Clinical Education
The LMU-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine Assistant/Associate Director of Clinical Education assists the Dean of Clinical Medicine with all aspects of the clinical rotations for the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM) at Orange Park.
Required Qualifications
any combination of education, training or experience as identified in the knowledge, skills and abilities section; and a minimum of five years previous experience in a comparable office setting
Preferred Qualifications
bachelors degree in relevant field.
Job Duties
- promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large
- promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students
- participate on university committees
- assists the Director of Clinical Operations with managing and maintaining The Rotations Management system for rotations and student management by entering information on students, faculty, and sites
- assist with set-up for the rotation optimization system
- assist with managing the VSAS database
- supervise clinical coordinators in the Orange Park Office of Clinical Education
- assist with implementing policies and procedures for assigning students to specific rotations
- track multiple telephone inquiries, emails and student schedule changes
- send out appropriate paperwork to sites for student rotations
- coordinate confidential student, facility and preceptor files and compile regular and special reports as needed
- ensure 3rd and 4th year osteopathic medical students as assigned to the rotations coordinator are scheduled and confirmed for clinical rotations that meet the requirements of the DCOM curriculum for graduation
- ensure students are current with immunizations
- ensure that students assigned to the rotations coordinator have the appropriate background checks prior to starting rotations
- assist with applications and scheduling residency interviews (including VSAS applications)
- work closely with sites and their coordinators on changes to rotations and preceptors
- gather student required clinical rotation documentation (drug screen, background check all health documentation)
- provide required clinical rotation documentation to preceptors and hospitals
- maintain health records for student
- work closely with the students in setting up and making sure that all rotations are met for graduation
- assist the Director of Clinical Operations with monitoring formative and summative evaluations for students on rotations and compile grades
- monitor confidential student, facility and preceptor files and compile regular and special reports as needed
- assist with maintaining database by entering, updating and tracking information on students, faculty and sites
- complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites
- perform other duties as assigned
