The College of Health Sciences (CHS) – Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS) – Nuclear Medicine Program University of Missouri - Columbia (MU), invites applications for a full time, on-site Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor position.
About the Department/Program
The Nuclear Medicine Program is an accredited, entry level program within the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences. The program delivers integrated didactic, laboratory, and clinical education and maintains active partnerships with affiliated clinical sites. Faculty provide direct oversight to ensure educational quality, student progression, and compliance with accreditation standards.
Position Overview
This is a full time, on site Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor position with primary responsibility for clinical education and instructional support. The position is essential to maintain program operations, ensuring effective coordination of clinical experiences, supporting student progression, and meeting required faculty staffing expectations for accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee clinical education experiences for Nuclear Medicine students
- Conduct on site clinical supervision and visitation at affiliated clinical sites
- Teach assigned Nuclear Medicine courses
- Advise and mentor students regarding academic and clinical progression
- Participate in admissions, assessment, curriculum review, and accreditation activities
- Engage in departmental, college, and professional service activities
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• Earned master’s degree or higher in Nuclear Medicine or a closely related field
• Current professional certification in Nuclear Medicine (e.g., NMTCB or ARRT N)
• Documented clinical experience in nuclear medicine
Candidates will be evaluated on:
• Experience coordinating or supervising clinical education
• Experience teaching laboratory based or clinical Nuclear Medicine courses
• Experience working within an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
• Evidence of effective student advising and mentoring
• Engagement in program service, assessment, or curriculum development
