Position description
The University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) Department of Surgery (https://surgery.ucsd.edu) - Division of Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery, in collaboration with the Division of Surgical Oncology - is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are currently seeking a fellowship-trained minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgeon with a strong focus on clinical care.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching trainees-such as students and residents-providing clinical care to patients, and/or conducting research.
Candidates with a clinical and academic interest in pancreatitis and multidisciplinary care models are encouraged to apply.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
(required at time of application)
- Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree.
- Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
- Candidates must have completed an HPB Surgery Fellowship or a Surgical Oncology Fellowship.
- Candidates must have, or be eligible for, a California medical license or an equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
