Position overview
Position title: Pathology Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $80,800 - $212,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Position description
The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking pathologists to work in conjunction with the VA. The Department of Pathology plays a key role in the University's three missions. It aims to achieve the highest standards in patient care, research, and education. The Department provides diagnostic pathology services in a wide variety of subspecialties with highly trained subspecialists who are recognized for their expertise. Its educational mission encompasses teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees, fostering the next generation of pathologists and scientists. The Department's research programs are diverse and interface with a wealth of basic and translational research programs that are a hallmark of UC San Diego.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
- Candidates must have an MD or equivalent.
- Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
- Candidates must be board-certified in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology at the time of hire.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates with previous Veteran's Affairs experience are preferred.
