The Tufts University School of Medicine's Department of Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenured faculty appointment at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications for the accelerated Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in Phoenix, AZ to serve as the Assistant/Associate Director of Student Affairs for the DPT Program. The title will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This seven-semester DPT program is a blend of online and on-campus activities, which allows the faculty member to live remotely to the Tufts School of Medicine Phoenix location. DPT faculty members, however, must be able to travel and stay in Phoenix, AZ for designated periods each semester.

This individual is expected to work with the Director of Student Affairs to develop and oversee all functions of the Office of Student Affairs. The ideal candidate should be able to foster inclusivity and relate well with students, staff, and faculty. The Office of Student Affairs is responsible for student progression, retention, coaching, various academic and non-academic policies, and student-related events including orientation and on-campus socials.

Teaching and Education Responsibilities: Teach courses as agreed upon with the Program Chair, DPT Program

Essential Tasks and Functions of the Assistant/Associate Director of Student Affairs are conducted in collaboration with the Director of Student Affairs (detailed list of 14 tasks provided in original posting).

The ideal candidate will have an academic doctorate and previous experience working closely with students. Candidates with a DPT and American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) certification or certification credentials appropriate for their teaching responsibilities will also be considered.

This position is a non-tenure track faculty position with salary and rank commensurate with qualifications. The candidate must be licensed in or eligible for physical therapist licensure in Arizona.
