Position title: Specialist, Project Scientist or Research Scientist Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $63,500 - $196,400. Position description
The Department of Neurosciences (https://neurosciences.ucsd.edu/) at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. We invite applications for Specialist, Project Scientist, and Research Scientist positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full rank.
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the selected candidates will function with varying degrees of independence depending on the appointment series. Responsibilities may include:
- Designing, managing, and/or conducting experiments;
- Training, mentoring, and teaching in a research setting to students and others in the field;
- Leading and/or contributing innovative and significant efforts to the project(s);
- Participating in and/or presenting at scientific meetings;
- Writing and/or contributing to scientific reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals for submission and/or publication.

Appointment level/rank will be based on background and experience.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have a PhD or MD/PhD in Neurosciences, basic sciences, or related health disciplines.
