Job Summary:

This faculty, Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) position is available in the Clinical Practice, Innovation, and Research Division of the School of Pharmacy. The successful candidate will establish a sustained program of publishable scholarly work that is complementary to the individual's expertise and will teach and coordinate in the School's Doctor of Pharmacy program pursuant to needs of the Division and candidate’s expertise/interests. Teaching responsibilities may include instruction within didactic lecture and skills-focused laboratory courses, and coordination of a community-based student and older adult partner program. Teaching and research/scholarship collaborations across other biomedical and health science schools on campus and within Wisconsin is possible and encouraged. The University of Wisconsin-Madison has many strengths and partnerships in research and treatment, including but not limited to the Transdisciplinary Center for Research in Psychoactive Substances, UW-Madison Institute on Aging, Center for Aging and Research Education, and the PHARMx Consortium.

Please note, there is one position available for either an Assistant or Associate Professor (CHS). Level and pay are commensurate with experience. Position start date of October 1st, 2026 and salary are negotiable.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Advancing the research and scholarship mission of the School of Pharmacy by developing an independent research program in an area of expertise as well as establishing collaborations leading to a sustained program of publishable scholarly work.
  • Teaching within the School's Doctor of Pharmacy program, both in classroom instruction and in practice-related courses.
  • Serving as a member of school committees/working groups.
  • Development of a clinical practice (4-8 hours per week) that is complementary to the selected candidate's area of expertise and research/scholarship. Clinical practice may be broadly defined and may include opportunities throughout the continuum of care.

Compensation:

Negotiable, Annual (12 months)

Required Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate year two pharmacy residency (PGY2), PhD training, fellowship, or equivalent clinical or academic experience
  • Wisconsin Pharmacist Licensure or eligibility to gain license-- please note, if you require immigration sponsorship, license must be in place prior to filing a sponsorship petition
  • Appointment as Associate Professor (CHS) will require candidate's credentials to meet criteria for rank at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record of research leading to peer-reviewed publications
  • Prior teaching, mentoring, or precepting experience
  • Preference will be given to expertise and/or research interests in neuropsychiatry and/or geriatrics

Education:

Pharm.D. or equivalent terminal degree
