Assistant/Associate Professor- General Dentist
Job Summary
This is a College of Dental Medicine Full-Time faculty position within Western University of Health Sciences and is offered in conjunction with an administrative appointment. Together the faculty role (PCN F03168) and the administrative role (PCN A03381) comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE / 5 days per week). The salary range listed in this posting represents the total compensation for the combined faculty and administrative responsibilities. Please refer to the corresponding job posting under our Administration jobs section for details on the additional assignment. Conduct teaching and patient care activities for the College for Dental Medicine with a primary role in the Community-Based Dental Education (CBDE) curriculum, as well as scholarly and service activities in support of the mission, goals and objectives of the College and University. This position is in conjunction with an administrative position.

- Recognized knowledge and experience in a broad range of general dentistry diagnostic and treatment services.
- Ability to communicate effectively to both individuals and groups in writing and orally.
- Ability to interact in an effective and positive manner with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including administration, faculty, residents, students, staff, patients, and outside contacts.
- Ability to effectively conduct detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in an academic environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: D.D.S. or D.M.D from an institution accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation or equivalent, and/or completion of an advanced dental residency program at an institution accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation or equivalent.
- Licensure and Certification: Must have an active California license or be qualified to obtain licensure in California.
- Experience:
- FQHC and FQHC-look alike or similar clinic.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience:
- Background in public health and community dentistry.
- Comprehensive clinical experience spanning all ages (e.g. pediatric, geriatric, special health care needs); and experience in clinical practice and academics.
