ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
DIVISION OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
West Virginia University School of Medicine – Health Professions, located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking an on-campus/in-person, full-time, non-tenure track (12-month) Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Human Performance, Division of Occupational Therapy to contribute to a well-established program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. This faculty member will contribute to the mission of WVU, and the Occupational Therapy Programs (MOT and OTD) housed within the School of Medicine.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels including mentorship and coordination of student projects, and clinical services in the WVU PT/OT Faculty Practice Clinic. Active engagement in Division, University, and professional service activities is also expected including participation in Division and committee meetings as well as recruitment and review of applicants to the occupational therapy programs.
Qualifications :
Applicants must meet the following criteria for consideration:
- Completed post-professional doctoral degree (PPOTD, PhD, EdD, ScD, or comparable degree) awarded by an institution accredited by a United States Department of Education (USDE) recognized national and/or regional accrediting body. Candidates who have applied and/or are currently enrolled in a doctoral degree program with an established timeline for degree completion will be considered.
- At least two (2) years of clinical teaching students (clinical teaching of Level II Fieldwork students and/or classroom/adjunct instruction).
- At least three (3) years of Occupational Therapy practice experience in adult physical rehabilitation. Some neurorehabilitation experience is preferred.
- Must be registered with NBCOT
- Eligibility for an Occupational Therapist license in West Virginia
All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

Faculty members in the Division of Occupational Therapy are afforded a differential workload allowing for customization of expectations based on research expertise, clinical/teaching expertise, and service obligations. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
