Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) leverages the power of academia for real-world impact to transform individuals, organisations and society. Since 1990, CJBS has forged a reputation as a centre of rigorous thinking and high-impact transformative education, situated within one of the world's most prestigious research universities, and in the heart of the Cambridge Cluster, the most successful technology entrepreneurship cluster in Europe.

CJBS is a highly ranked modern business school that sits at the heart of the 800-year-old University of Cambridge, in juxtaposition of the past with the future. The Organisational Behaviour (OB) group is looking to recruit a research scholar in marketing at the Associate Professor or Assistant Professor level.

The Organisational Behaviour group's current research interests include the following topics:

  • leadership and emotions
  • psychometric measurement, big data, and people analytics
  • decision making
  • cross-cultural management
  • creativity and innovation
  • teams

Our group uses a variety of research methods, largely (but not exclusively) drawing on experimental, survey, archival, and qualitative data collected in international contexts. In addition to conducting basic research, the group is dedicated to making the translation from science to practice. We strongly encourage that scholarly publications are accompanied by practitioner publications documenting the implications of our basic scientific studies.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in organisational behaviour or a related discipline and will have a record of impactful research, evidenced by publications and a strong paper pipeline. They will possess excellent teaching experience in premium business school degree programs or executive education engagements. Project administration and dissertation supervision are also expected. The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, depending on the candidate's experience. Appointments may be made with or without tenure, depending on the candidate's record. For those appointed on a tenure track, a decision will be made within five years.

We anticipate the start date to be 1 September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, and offer a competitive package of benefits.

Please ensure that the following documents are included in your application:

  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Covering letter explaining your interest in the post.
  • Job market paper
  • A one-page statement specifying research interests and future plans.
  • Evidence of teaching performance.

Please provide the names and contact details of three referees on the online form. We will contact the referees of longlisted candidates directly to request references. Referees will be asked to comment specifically on the candidate's ability to undertake this particular role.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to visit Cambridge for a departmental visit, informal discussions with faculty, a presentation, and a formal interview.

We particularly welcome applications from female candidates and individuals from BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) backgrounds, as these groups are currently underrepresented at this level within our department.

If you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply promptly. The closing date for this advertisement may be earlier than initially indicated, should a number of suitably qualified candidates submit applications. We also reserve the right to extend the closing date, if necessary, until the position is filled.
