Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine - 3 Positions to be Filled
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Serves the Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM) in the Department of Primary Care and Clinical Medicine. The University is seeking qualified candidates to join SHSU-COM as full-time Clinical Faculty. The position reports to the Chair of Primary Care and Clinical Medicine.
The clinical faculty members will assist the Chair of Primary Care and Clinical Medicine in development of clinical content for systems courses and clerkships. Participate in scholarship and research in the department, provide quality patient care and foster collaboration and interdisciplinary learning.
Please note this position is located in Conroe at the College of Osteopathic Medicine facility.
Educational Requirements for the Position
The successful candidate will have a DO or MD degree from a College of Osteopathic or Allopathic Medicine with successful completion of residency training, current AOA or ABMS board certification or board eligibility, a current unrestricted license to practice in Texas (or eligibility to obtain a medical license in Texas).
Experience Required for the Position
This position requires clinical skills and well-developed communication skills. A background in medical education is preferred, as is experience in pre-clinical and clinical teaching. Those able to teach osteopathic manipulative medicine preferred but not required. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and training.
