Assistant / Associate Professor of Soft Tissue / Orthopedics or Combined Position
The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time tenure or clinical track faculty position in small animal soft tissue, orthopedic surgery, or a combined soft tissue/orthopedic surgery position. Depending on qualifications and experience, the position is at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level.
The successful candidate is expected to engage in the departmental mission by participating in the teaching, service, and scholarship programs of the College. Responsibilities include clinical, didactic, and laboratory teaching of small animal surgery to professional students, interns, and residents; participation in continuing education at local and national levels; providing mentorship to residents; and contributing to the clinical or basic science research program.
Requirements include the DVM/VMD or equivalent degree and completion of a formal surgery residency or certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS).
