Job Summary
The position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Teacher Leadership is a ten-month, tenure track faculty position in the Teacher Education, Leadership, and Counseling Department in the College of Education and Health Professions.
Responsibilities
Coordinating the graduate programs (MEd, EdS, and Endorsement) in Teacher Leadership, effective teaching and advising at the graduate level (fully online); designing, implementing, and assessing Teacher Leadership programs of study; engaging in research and scholarly activities, to include mentoring doctoral students, serving on and chairing doctoral dissertation committees; performing service to the program, department, college, and university; working closely with faculty in Teacher Education and Educational Leadership fields; and participating actively in professional development and leadership activities.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have an earned doctorate (ABD considered) in Teacher Leadership or related field from a regionally accredited institution; experience as a teacher leader (not educational administration) in a PK-12 school setting (public, U.S. schools preferred); excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; a record of successful research and publication or strong evidence of potential; a demonstrated record of membership and participation in relevant professional organizations; a record of service and involvement in the profession; and the ability to use technology for synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have the ability to coordinate and grow graduate programs; bring innovative strategies to our teacher education programs; and have evidence of successful teaching at the college level in both traditional and online environments.
