The UNCW Department of Athletics sponsors 19 varsity sports and competes in the NCAA Division I as a member of the Coastal Athletic Association. Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
The University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball. UNCW is a NCAA Division I program and member of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA).
The Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball, assists the Head Coach in providing leadership for a NCAA Division I program. Assists with all aspects of the program and plays an integral part in the day-to-day administrative responsibilities, daily team training, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes, academic monitoring and skill development This position must work within UNCW, CAA and NCAA guidelines to provide student-athletes an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.
This position acts as a second Assistant Coach to the Women's Basketball Team.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of collegiate basketball coaching experience
- Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
- Must possess the highest level of ethical standards, recruit qualified student-athletes, and display a strong commitment to their academic success
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- 5 years of Division 1 Women's Basketball coaching experience
- Demonstrated success in recruitment of scholarship athletes
- Master's Degree with Division I coaching, with experience
Required Certifications or Licensures:
Must possess and maintain a current driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record while serving in the position.
