Assistant Coach - Women's Lacrosse
Position Purpose
To participate as part of a decision making team (coaching staff) under the direction of the head coach in planning, coaching, recruiting, administering, and promoting the women’s lacrosse program within NCAA, Ivy League and institutional standards.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp
Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- 6 years relevant lacrosse playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level or higher.
- Strong knowledge of lacrosse skills and strategies.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to recruit effectively with no athletic grants and highly selective admissions standards.
- Significant recruiting experience.
- Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license to accommodate recruiting and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Division I player or coach.
- Successful recruiting experience at the Division I level.
Key Accountabilities
Coaching/Mentoring (60%)
Contributes suggestions and recommendations to planning and implementing the conditioning, training, and coaching programs for the lacrosse team. Prepares scouting reports and game plans for opponents. Teaches lacrosse skills and strategies to student-athletes.
Recruiting (25%)
Serves as the program’s Recruiting Coordinator and facilitates the development and implementation of an overall recruiting plan. Assumes significant independent responsibility for identifying qualified students and talented athletes, communicating with prospects, traveling to evaluate prospects, organizing campus visits, and maintaining recruiting records.
Administration (15%)
Ensures compliance with NCAA and Ivy League rules. Provides input in planning and administering the budget. Plans and reconciles recruiting and team travel expenses. Promotes Dartmouth and the lacrosse program through camps, clinics, speeches and community involvement.
