Assistant Dean for Assessment and Program Outcomes
The Assistant Dean for Assessment and Program Outcomes provides strategic leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive, college-wide system of assessment and program evaluation across the College of Health Sciences.
This role is responsible for establishing coherent, standardized frameworks for assessment, strengthening faculty and program-level capacity, and ensuring that academic programs demonstrate measurable student learning, program effectiveness, and alignment with accreditation and institutional expectations.
Working within a distributed assessment model, the Assistant Dean partners with department chairs, program directors, and faculty—who retain responsibility for discipline-specific assessment—to provide expert guidance, structure, and oversight. The position emphasizes system-building, faculty support, and quality assurance, ensuring that assessment practices are meaningful, sustainable, and consistently applied across all CHS programs.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
An earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in an academic discipline from a regionally accredited institution is preferred. A master’s degree is required.
- a demonstrated record of outstanding teaching, leadership, professional accomplishment, and aptitude for administrative effectiveness,
- 7 + years of experience in higher education, and
- successful experience in the administration of existing graduate program(s) including recruitment, applications, enrollment, program assessment and support of students.
Management Preferences:
- Experience in a health sciences or interdisciplinary academic environment
- Familiarity with multiple specialized accreditors (e.g., CCNE, CSWE, ACOTE)
- Experience leading faculty development in assessment
- Experience developing assessment systems across multiple programs
- Experience with:
- Data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Learning management systems and assessment platforms
- Record of scholarship in assessment, education, or outcomes research
