The Assistant Director for Space Planning & Asset Management provides strategic oversight of campus interior environments to ensure spaces are functional and visually appealing. This role combines data-driven space planning with hands-on program management for interior upkeep, including furniture, flooring, and finishes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning for campus space usage
- Track and analyze office, lab, and classroom usage
- Maintain and continuously update room and asset data in systems such as FPMT, DirectLine, and 25Live
- Collaborate with campus departments and stakeholders to prepare and submit required reports to the state on space utilization
- Oversee and manage interior upkeep programs
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all interior spaces and furnishings
- Anticipate future interior space needs and recommend cost-effective, scalable solutions
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce deferred maintenance and backlog items
- Read and understand construction drawings and plans
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, interior design, architecture, planning, or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in space planning, facilities management, or interior asset management
- Five (5) years of experience managing multiple projects and programs simultaneously
OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
