Job Summary:
The Assistant Director (AD) of Accessibility and Advocacy Resource Office (AARO) & Lead Victim Advocate is charged with identifying and addressing student needs by providing services to aid students who have experienced violence, including but not limited to sexual violence, relationship violence, harassment, and stalking. Indiana State University's Lead Victim Advocate is a confidential resource that oversees the continuum of care for students. They manage the volunteer victim advocates, which will include some on-call responsibilities. The AD creates and collaborates sexual and gender violence prevention programming, including bystander intervention.
The Assistant Director will also provide support to AARO related to assisting students with disabilities and addressing accessibility on campus. They will review accommodation requests and work one-on-one with students to assist in success in the classroom experience as well as life on campus. The AD will participate in New Student Orientation discussing AARO services with new students and family members.
Required Field of Study:
Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Counseling, Social Work, Human Services or closely related field.
