Job Description
The University of Missouri seeks a results-oriented individual to join its Annual Giving team. This collaborative team supports a $20M+ annual fundraising program and is positioned for continued growth as the university advances priorities in the $2B Power the Roar campaign.
Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director strengthens donor retention and increases annual philanthropic support for Mizzou. This role assists with strategies to recruit, engage, and retain donors across the university’s 13 schools and colleges, MU Health Care, and key campus units, including the Mizzou Alumni Association, MU Libraries, Student Affairs, and MU Extension. The Assistant Director also plays a key role in supporting Mizzou Giving Day, the university’s largest annual fundraising campaign.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with development and implementation of multi-channel annual giving and donor renewal strategies that leverage creativity, industry best practices, and data analytics (25%)
- Partner with the Director of Annual Giving, Advancement marketing and communications, and various University of Missouri partners to craft compelling messages for alumni, donors, parents, and friends (20%)
- Manage Mizzou’s online crowdfunding program, Raise the Roar, including page development for schools and units, performing analysis and regular reporting (20%)
- Partner with the Director of Annual Giving as a liaison to school and unit partners by identifying segments, aligning annual giving priorities, and planning targeted appeals (10%)
- Analyze and report on campaign performance by channel, constituency, retention, reactivation, dollars raised, and number of donors (10%)
- Oversee monthly and annual donor renewal appeals to drive participation and long-term engagement (10%)
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support our donor engagement and annual giving goals (5%)
Shift
M-F 8am-5pm with some occasional events and infrequent travel may be expected.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, or marketing and communications.
- Experience with project management and coordination.
- Expert knowledge of core technologies currently utilized in Advancement, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, CRMs, online giving platforms, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
