The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law
seeks an enthusiastic and talented individual to serve as Assistant
Director of Development & Annual Giving (Annual/Alumni Giving
Officer I). Reporting to the Executive Director of Development,
the Assistant Director of Development & Annual Giving will be
an instrumental partner to enhance and enrich existing Maryland
Carey Law annual giving operations. The Assistant Director of
Development & Annual Giving, with a payroll title of annual
giving officer I, is responsible for supporting the planning and
execution of annual giving and donor engagement initiatives by
coordinating fundraising campaigns, developing solicitation and
communication materials, managing donor and prospect data, and
providing responsive donor services. The Assistant Director of
Development & Annual Giving will also contribute to fundraising
growth through campaign support, data analysis, trend research,
gift processing, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance the
School of Law's development and annual giving operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES
· Support a comprehensive annual giving calendar and plan for communication and solicitation activities within specific market segments identified as having potential for the greatest growth, including creating and editing of all solicitation appeals.
· Help with the coordination of annual fund or alumni giving campaigns of prospective donors. Goals of these campaigns will be focused on: total $'s raised; participation of targeted prospects and donors; number of new donors/prospects acquired; number of new donors/prospects acquired at leadership level; total number of appeals.
· Researches and reports on current annual giving trends. Makes recommendations to improve the overall annual giving operation based on research findings.
· Involved in gift processing and day-to-day support activities, especially during peak times for donations. Due to the nature of fundraising and alumni relations, full office and telephone coverage are important operational needs that all employees share responsibility for.
· Responds to philanthropy inquiries and responsible for follow up calls regarding donor related needs.
· Oversees data management, list pull requests and data manipulation and clean up before and after all solicitations and activities.
· Participates in planning meetings, works on special assignments, assists colleagues, and provides support for all ongoing programs and operations, as needed.

Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Two (2) years of fundraising, philanthropy, or client/customer relations experience.
