Job Description:
Position Summary:
This position is a part-time staff position. While the full complement of duties is determined in consultation with the Dean of Health Professions & Education and is based primarily on the needs of the program, the basic qualifications and responsibilities are as follows:
Responsibilities:
Leadership of Field Education:
- Collaborate with and take direction from the Director of Field Education to create meaningful field experiences for students that meet CSWE standards.
- Manage the work of field instructors and adjuncts teaching Field Work seminars under the direction of the Director of Field Education.
- Maintain accurate records concerning the experiences of students in the field under the direction of the Director of Field Education.
- Design and run online training for new field liaisons and field supervisors under the direction of the Director of Field Education
- Provide professional development to field supervisors to ensure student learning under the direction of the Director of Field Education
- Build long-term relationships with field agency leadership
- Assess student progress in the field and evaluate the performance of agencies, field liaisons, and field supervisors under the direction of the Director of Field Education
- Guide students in selecting field placements appropriate to meet their learning objectives and career goals
- Conduct site visits (virtually) with students and agency representatives, as needed
- Respond to and resolve any issues that arise for students in field settings
- Draft and review field education policies and procedures
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and editing CSWE accreditation documents
- Lead and provide instruction in fieldwork practice courses, as well as assume additional teaching responsibilities as needed
Accountability:
- Reports to the Dean of Health Professions & Education
- Attends campus meetings and events online
- Attends online School meetings and other meetings called by the University
- Performs other related duties as assigned, including participating on committees, teams, or task forces
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program
- Two years of post-master's clinical social work practice experience
- Supervisory experience
- LCSW in the state of residence, preferred
- Experience placing social work students in internships, preferred
- Knowledge of CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards, preferred
- Experience teaching at the graduate level, preferred
- Experience with online education, preferred
- Experience practicing in a recovery-oriented environment, preferred
Skills/Abilities:
- Must possess well-developed writing and verbal skills. Must have knowledge, skills, and experience as an experienced social worker
- Ability to collaborate with students and colleagues diverse in age, socioeconomic status, cultural heritage, color, ethnicity, faith, residence in urban and rural settings, gender identity, sexual orientation, disabilities, lived experience of recovery, and academic background
- Exceptional computer skills with proficiency using internet tools, Microsoft Office applications, learning management systems, and conferencing meeting technology
- Demonstrate respect for all
Supervisory Responsibility:
Adjunct instructors teaching Field Education, Field Instructors, and Graduate Assistants, as appropriate
