Assistant Director of Online Operations for Helms School of Government
The Assistant Director of Online Operations supports the Associate Dean of Online Operations in ensuring that all online programs, courses, sections, and faculty in the Helms School of Government are administered with excellence and in accordance with all applicable policies, standards, and strategic goals. Duties include but are not limited to: regular gathering, analysis, and reporting of data on retention, graduation rates, S-rates and other metrics required for strategic plan; coordination and oversight of departmental staff, Program Directors, and Subject Matter Experts in a process of continual assessment and improvement of programs, courses, and sections; coordination with department's academic leadership in annual faculty evaluations including oversight of required re-evaluations or performance plans; coordination with Director of Operations with the supervision of the operational, academic, budget, logistic, personnel, and outreach functions of the department, including formulating and implementing administrative and operational policies; and assisting in the planning and managing budget and personnel processes; and acting as the day to day budget administrator. This position is supervised by the Associate Dean for Online Operations and assists in the supervision of the online FSCs, IMs, Program Directors, and SMEs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Associate Dean of Online Operations in the administration of online programs, courses, sections, and faculty.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to supervise operational, academic, budgetary, logistical, personnel, and outreach functions.
- Act as the day-to-day budget administrator, including procurement, resource allocation, and coordination with other departments to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Regularly gather, analyze, and report data on key performance indicators (e.g., retention, graduation rates, S-rates) to support strategic planning and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with Program Directors and Subject Matter Experts to assess and enhance academic offerings.
- Oversee departmental staff and student workers, and assist in faculty evaluations, re-evaluations, and performance improvement plans.
- Formulate and implement administrative and operational policies aligned with institutional goals.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and accreditation standards in all online operations.
- Evaluate departmental performance and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and systems.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with academic leadership and support departments.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, processes, and industry benchmarks relevant to academic operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic goals of the Helms School of Government.
- Other responsibilities as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position may oversee student workers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree or two to five years of administrative experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Canvas
- Institutional knowledge of Liberty University and its systems
- Experience in managing multiple tasks and projects
