Assistant Director of Regional Recruitment - Transfer (Part Time)
Position Summary
Stetson University is seeking an Assistant Director of Regional Recruitment for Transfers in the local market. This position serves as a member of the Admissions team in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and is responsible for effectively managing and growing a geographic territory; developing and utilizing a strategic plan to assist in the recruitment process; and representing Stetson University at off-campus events.
The incumbent is expected to live in the Volusia County, though must be on site for transfer recruitment 90% of the time. The incumbent will come to the DeLand campus for events, training, and meetings. Daily responsibilities include communication with many prospective students and their families through individual appointments at community colleges, primarily at Daytona State College locations.
This position is a part-time, hourly position, and it is expected the incumbent will be on Daytona State Campus three days per week.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Regional Recruitment is responsible for oversight of recruitment and admissions of transfer students from Daytona State College. Daily responsibilities include communication with prospective students including; personal e-mails, notes, and individual appointments. This position will involve the planning of prospective student recruitment activities, extensive outreach, and travel within an assigned territory.
- Works and lives in territory, participate in regional admission activities and events to help with Stetson University's recognition within the region
- Builds relationships with key transfer and career counselors and independent counselors in assigned territory to connect with the right fit student; invites counselors to visit campus
- Conduct off-campus meetings, receptions, group recruitment activities and 1:1 opportunity for students and families
- Collaborate with Office of Admissions and University Marketing to attract students and families to programing
- Manages responsibilities and follow up within office CRM (Technolutions Slate) to document relationships, maintain accurate data, and other essential information
- With Associate Director of Admissions and the Director of Admissions to establish and achieve early entrance recruitment goals
- As needed, reviews files for acceptance and presents recommendations to the admissions committee. Reviews files for scholarship
- When possible, after receipt of application materials, determines and informs students of acceptance and award of merit scholarships
- Stay current on best practices for higher education, remote work and regional admissions responsibilities. Join the regional admissions networks, both online and in person
- Includes regular evening and weekend work, extensive communications, travel, and directive counseling for individuals and groups
- Night and weekend work is likely on occasion
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working in coordination with other teaching professionals of high achieving students at their institutions to plan and develop an effective educational plan; knowledge and experience with recruitment and retention; proven leadership experience that includes initiating and sustaining new programming; budget planning and oversight skills; and supervisory experience. Must be able to work effectively with highly confidential information. Must possess the ability to prepare budgets and track expenditures from multiple funding sources.

- Strong computer skills and experience with database management.
- Demonstrated competency in data collection and analysis relevant to interpreting market trends, competition, and admissions and enrollment statistics.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy.
- Must be able to work varied hours: regular hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required
- More than 5 years Admissions experience necessary with direct experience in the recruitment of transfer students
- Candidate must reside within the assigned territory
- Must work well independently and in groups
- Excellent writer and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel extensively (daily in assigned territory)
- Valid and active driver license with good driving record, enjoys travel and driving and must be insurable
- Ability to be productive and motivated from a remote position
