Description

The Center for Academic Success and Enrichment (CASE) is seeking an Assistant Director, Student Success to be responsible for one-on-one academic coaching of a caseload of students, coordinating the Peer Mentor Program, and assisting CASE Boston, in day-to-day responsibilities and departmental projects as needed.

  • Coordinate the development and documentation processes and procedures for the Peer Mentor Program including data-collection initiatives and program evaluation activities for the Intro to the Major (ITM) course in partnership with the School of Arts & Sciences.
  • Build relationships with faculty regarding the Peer Mentor relationship with the ITM course and serve as a mediator for any issues that arise with the Peer Mentor/ITM Instructor Expectation Form.
  • Coordinate the Peer Mentor program including all hiring, training, supervision, verifying timesheets, and development of new and returning peer mentors with the support of the Academic Coaches.
  • Assist students in understanding and interpreting academic policies and procedures, degree requirements, course selection, study skills, test taking strategies, and time management.
  • Support the university-wide academic standing process by participating in Academic Standing Committees and other committee participation as assigned.
  • Serve as a liaison between the CASE and Academic Departments.
  • Maintain appropriate staff/student relationships
  • Serve as a student advocate and refer students to additional resources across campus as needed.
  • Develop Academic Success Plans for students on academic warning and probation.
  • Maintain CASE Learning Library with academic resources pertinent to the academic success of students.
  • Assist with campus partners for events (including orientation, graduation, admission open house, etc.) and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

Required:

  • A Master's degree in Education, Psychology or Counseling, with a strong understanding of professional based programs
  • Three to five years Higher Education work experience, with a preference for overseeing/supervising student leaders
  • Strong program coordination, management, evaluation skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and working relationships with members of the college community
  • Demonstrated customer service and problem resolution skills
  • Proficiency using MS Office Programs
  • Ability to manage confidential materials and maintain confidentiality when working on specific tasks or projects
  • Possess a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks and resources appropriately
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects
  • Ability to utilize constructive feedback from colleagues and supervisors
  • Exercise an appropriate chain of command when needing to address issues/concerns

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, manual dexterity, ability to move between offices and floors of buildings
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours and to work some evenings and weekends
  • Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction)
  • Ability to lift up to 5-10 lbs.

Compensation

The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.

Hiring Range: $70,900 - $78,800
