Assistant Lecturer of Interior Design
The Department of Construction Management and Interior Design has a full-time non-tenure track faculty position for the Interior Design program available January 2026. Primary responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours per semester in the area of interior design and participating in department, college and university service tasks as needed.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 12 credit hours of undergraduate or graduate online courses per semester.
- Assist in obtaining and/or maintaining the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
- Develop new courses, as needed and/or revise existing courses.
- Participating in department, college and university service tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Interior Design, Architecture, or closely related field.
- Three years of experience in the design industry.
- Evidence of excellent teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in interior design, architecture, or closely related field.
- Experience with design software programs: Revit, CAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, etc..
- Experience in design build.
- Experience in construction management.
- Licensure and/or certification in interior design (NCIDQ), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Professional (LEED-AP), or closely related field.
- A record of successful teaching experience, as demonstrated through reappointment to teaching positions, student evaluations, peer evaluations and/or administrative evaluations.
- More than five years of experience in design and/or the interior design industry.
- Effective oral and written communication.
