Rockwood School of Marketing in the Herbert Wertheim College of Business at Florida State University seeks applications for a specialized (non-tenure track) faculty position at the assistant or advanced assistant lecturer level. Candidates with expertise in Sales and Marketing are especially encouraged to apply. The expected start date is January 2027.
Responsibilities
The Rockwood School of Marketing at Florida State University invites applications for a full-time, specialized (non-tenure track) faculty position beginning in January 2027. The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching courses in our undergraduate sales program and working closely with the FSU Sales Institute, with an emphasis on supporting our International Collegiate Sales Competition (ICSC) and many other events.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctorate in marketing or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution or similarly accredited program at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to service and have experience coaching students in sales role plays.
- Candidates should also demonstrate teaching excellence in the domain of professional selling.
- Candidates should have experience running sales competitions or other similar events.
- Ideal applicants will be student-focused, supportive, and looking to mentor the next generation of sales professionals.
- Specialized faculty tend to enjoy long careers at Florida State where they interact with a large student body that is passionate about their success and their university, all in a collegial, cohesive department.

About The Persis E. Rockwood School of Marketing
The Rockwood School was founded in 2022 with a $10 million gift in honor of Dr. Persis E. Rockwood, a longtime member of the Florida State University marketing faculty. Dr. Persis Rockwood was a trailblazer, becoming the first woman to earn a doctorate in marketing from Stanford University and the first woman to attain the status of Full Professor in the FSU College of Business.
The Rockwood School is home to a collegial, visible, and highly productive faculty group with expertise in service research, marketing strategy, organizational frontline research, consumer-based strategy, and public policy. The School offers degrees in marketing and sales and currently enrolls approximately 1,500 undergraduate and 8 doctoral students.
About the FSU Sales Institute
The FSU Sales Institute is a nationally recognized program within Florida State University’s College of Business that prepares and connects top sales talent with leading employers through experiential learning, professional development, and strong industry engagement. The Institute maintains deep corporate partnerships—supported by approximately 35 sponsoring companies—and offers students hands-on opportunities through applied coursework, coaching, and competitions that develop high-impact selling and relationship-building skills. In addition, the FSU Sales Institute works closely with corporate partners to conduct leading-edge scholarly research on sales and sales management topics, generating insights that advance both academic knowledge and business practice. The FSU Sales Institute also hosts the world’s largest intercollegiate sales competition: The International Collegiate Sales Competition (ICSC).

Considerations
This is a Faculty position.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
