We are seeking a driven, relationship-led Assistant Manager, Admissions to help attract, engage and convert a diverse pool of high-caliber candidates into the HKUST MBA program. This is a target-oriented, outward-facing role for someone who is energized by building relationships, opening doors, and turning interest into enrolment. Beyond individual candidate recruitment, you will play a central part in developing corporate partnerships that bring more employers into our nomination scheme and expand the reach of our MBA education.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Recruitment and Conversion
- Engage prospective candidates throughout their decision journey with a consultative, responsive approach that builds trust and drives conversion.
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to attract high-quality candidates from diverse backgrounds.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective students, alumni, and partner organizations.
Application Management and Candidate Experience
- Manage the end-to-end admissions process for assigned candidates, including the collection, review, and evaluation of applications.
- Provide guidance and support to applicants throughout the application process, ensuring a high-quality candidate experience.
- Maintain accurate records and timely follow-up across the candidate pipeline.
Corporate Partnerships and Business Development
- Build and grow relationships with employers, HR, and Learning and Development functions to expand the company nomination scheme and secure new corporate partners.
- Develop a pipeline of partner organizations whose employees are encouraged and supported to pursue an HKUST MBA.
- Act as the relationship manager for partner companies, advocating the value of our program and equipping partners to promote it internally.
- Identify and pursue new channels for reaching prospective candidates through corporate and institutional relationships.
Evaluation and Selection
- Conduct thorough evaluations of applicants, considering academic achievement, work experience, leadership potential, and fit with the program.
- Assess candidates through advisory calls to help determine their suitability for the program.
- Work with the admissions committee to recommend candidates for acceptance.
Results and Reporting
- Contribute to enrolment and partnership targets, taking ownership of agreed individual goals.
- Monitor and analyze admissions and pipeline metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and speed of decision-making.
- Provide regular updates on recruitment, partnership, and conversion performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. A master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business development, corporate partnerships, account management, admissions, recruitment, or a comparable client-facing, target-driven role.
- A track record of building relationships and achieving measurable results, ideally including B2B or corporate-facing work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders across companies and institutions.
- Excellent organizational and time management ability, with strong attention to detail.
- An analytical mindset and comfort working with data to track pipeline and inform decisions.
- Experience in or genuine interest in graduate business education is an advantage.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
