Assistant Manager (Undergraduate Research)
Job Description
The Assistant Manager (Undergraduate Research) will be part of the Undergraduate Education (Research) Team at the Office of the Provost, NUS.
Programme Operations
- Lead the Mentorship pillar of the Special Programme in Undergraduate Research (SPUR) by coordinating NUS Graduate School and Academic Departments to recruit Mentors
- Develop guidelines for Mentors and Mentees over the full duration of participation in SPUR
- Process Mentor honorariums and provide administrative support to Mentors
- Address queries about Mentorship from stakeholders
Student Support
- Develop and execute admissions and onboarding processes for students joining SPUR
- Manage the administration of SPUR students using the relevant academic systems (e.g. tagging/untagging students in EduRec)
- Provide support to students throughout their SPUR candidature, including programme completion
- Advise prospective students during pre-admissions
Others
- Assist in the operation of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP) and Research Experience (REx) programme
- Other duties assigned by the Associate Provost (Undergraduate Education) as necessary
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized University
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in an academic setting (e.g. tertiary or higher education), academic administration, or related fields
- Ability to engage and support faculty members and students
- Familiarity with student management systems is advantageous
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
- Organised and meticulous with an eye for details
