Position:
The College of Health Professions invites applications for three full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Department of Nursing. Preferred begin date, August 2027.
Qualifications:
A research doctorate (excludes clinical practice doctorate) with expertise in a respective specialty area is required. Evidence of an active research agenda is also required. Candidates should have experience working with diverse populations. ABD applicants will be considered, with appointment at the instructor rank; all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2028. Candidates must hold a current unencumbered Maryland RN license or be eligible for Maryland RN licensure and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and advising. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Candidates seeking appointment at the Associate Professor rank should have six years of higher education teaching experience or comparable qualifications and demonstrate a clear line of research with documented scholarly outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching - provide high quality instruction in a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses to a diverse group of students, advise and mentor students as they matriculate through the program and prepare to enter the profession;
- Scholarship - pursue, contribute to and/or collaborate with colleagues in scholarship that reflects one's area of specialization; this may include publications, quality improvement projects and grant related initiatives;
- Service - actively participate in service at the Department, College, University, professional and community levels.
The Department:
The Department of Nursing is one of five academic units within the College of Health Professions. Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the department enrolls approximately 600 pre-licensure undergraduate students, including those in the Associate-to-Bachelor's degree program, and approximately 35 students in the Entry-Level Master of Science in Nursing program.

Salary and Benefits:
Targeted salary range: $86,000-$91,000 salary range for Assistant Professor / $105,000-$110,000 salary range for Associate Professor. Salary range commensurate with experience.
